Greenpeace Against Power Plant Projects

Greenpeace Against Power Plant Projects

Greenpeace Southeast Asia cancels the Ban Krud and Bo Nok coal-fired power plant projects In Prachuap Khiri khan. The environmental group say “Scrapping the projects would avert an adverse impact on farming, fishing and tourism affecting villagers’ livelihood.

An evidence of the environmental impact assessments (EIA) is inaccurate and misleading, and does not highlight the actual prospect of toxic ash accumulation on the plants in Sam Roi Yot national park near the Bo Nok site.
Umaporn Sumarlan, an energy campaigner, says “Asian countries have a large potential for renewable energies, including solar, wind, bio-mass, micro-hydro and geothermal that the Thai government ought to consider. The group thinks the government have to learn from the mistakes to develop countries and get rid of dirty energy technology.

In conclusion, I think it's dangerous and not good to many people in the area. It can cause disease and sickness to everyone. The goverment should take care of this problem as soon as problem.
